I've had private insurance forever. Expensive top-cover. Last time I was in hospital was 51 years ago - pretty sure it was public then but can't remember for sure. Last time for the wife (not withstanding she's a nurse) was when our daughter was born in 1982. Beyond that, dental and specs sums it up.... I'm with you dunworkin....raise the medicare levy and improve the public system...and the private system can be for the upper crust and Hot Copper zillionaires.... Lived in the US for years and their health system is nothing less than ghastly. It's brutally unfair and criminally expensive. Wouldn't wish it on anyone.....but we seem headed down that path.
