Hello, would any kind person offer advice here to a newbie? I'm a reviewing a trade I did where I bought yesterday afternoon, expecting todays open to rise higher but instead it opened 6% down. Expectation was for the stock IFL to continue its gains after the open (maybe with an initial small pullback). Actual: Stock gapped down hard and opened -6%.
I'd love to get some insights and education into whats happening here to cause this? Ie, not so much the technical analysis side but understand what the market decided to do here, what (types) of traders might have been involved (high frequency traders? market makers? the shorters came in?).
I'm also interested to know if you can see this was going to occur based of the price action in the afternoon or some indicator value?
