"The latest deal has to go to a committee in November for approval of term sheet ?? This deal was supposed to have been done a year ago- what needs approving for gods sake."

I was thinking about this when i read TI's email from Nick - do all deals go through the "Investment Committee" ? You'd think, and i could be on the wrong path but a standard collaboration would come through an R&D arm as opposed to the investment committe, the allocated funds are small & really just funding the initial screening - is this really classified as an investment ? I would of thought something going before that committe would be more like a deal that was hinted at for a while where the pharma was looking to take a position in the company at the same time as inking the collaboration & Phylogica still retained the option to carry any candidates further through the CT's if it chose to ? As i said could be way off the mark i just don't read an Investment Committe as a standard deal ? That's my Friday brain teaser - have a good weekend :-)
