Spider, it depends on whether you classify waste removal as a capex or an operating cost. Regardless I calculate STB's waste removal to cost about $3b...even though it is shallow ore it has a massive surface area and hence large amounts of waste will have to be relocated. Logistically it could be quite a task and potentially cost a lot more as there could be significant trucking distances involved. Also the amount of trucks needed would be much greater than normal to accomodate the distances travelled.
