Mali has a high sovereign risk, not everyone likes investing in African countries.
Ganfeng, the world's third largest and China's largest lithium compounds producer, is LLL's joint venture partner, provides cash US$130m into the JV and pending debt finance (US$40m - US$64m), that is likely to de-risk technical execution risk. Plus LLL has around $84m cash on hand, that would be fully funded to production.

Here's extraction from the official numbers, please note, LLL's calculations were based on average spodumene price of US$978/t (year 1 - 5 spodumene price of US$1,250/t and the year 6 to 22 were based on US$900/t), where LTR was based on average spodumene price of US$1,392/t for the project.
