He said that so people didnt panic sell. If he had come out and said ' so we really dont have much business currently but we are hoping Rewired fest shows brands we can be successful in delivering a product' that wouldnt of been good

Walmart are definitely not too keen on the idea, seeing as they couldve easily implemented the online element of rewired fest, which is supposedly going to drive traffic to Walmart. The fact they have delayed means they dont see much value in the online mogul element of the festival, mainly the physical event.
