The calculation depend on what price you use.
current FOB Newcastle/Port Kembla thermal coal price is about $107 per Metric Ton.
Rey's coal quality is not as good.
So take 15% of this price. Leaves you with about $90 per ton.
Rey's cash cost FOB is about $60.
leaves you with $30 margin not taking into effect proposed tax rates, royalties and currency fluctuations.
If thermal coal price nudges up, Rey will fall into MRRT tax rate.
I've said it in the past and still do, Rey need to find a partner to push this way past 10mpta. But that is another story.
plus they need to prove up a few billion tonnes of the stuff. In two years they have done one drilling campaign.
Inept.
The location has the right ingredients for success, but you need men who can do the deals.
