Similar to my residential investment properties.
I was always eager to improve them capitally and maintain them so they were always in "peak condition" for the rental market and therefore rents always rising over time.
The manager took 7% +GST of the rental income. As that income rose so too did the capital value of properties.
This is a REIT so much different in structure but still the same principle. As values rise, so too does the managers income.
And why not?
