I hold both RFG and ZMM

If you compare zmm with rfg, I would say there is similarity in the sense both busn are turning the tide and around 99% down in SP. BUT odds are IMO zmm will eventually outperform rfg given the following reasons:

    1. RFG operating at a lower base 2.5c. Now already almost 4x from the bottom. RFG also a much bigger market cap. 200m vs 10m for zmm
    2. RFG is a mature company with 80 stores down from 250. There is a a reason for this. Oversaturation. . So less scope for growth. ZMM is basically a startup with shell pricing. Its a much "younger" company with a more compelling future. the sky is the limit
    3. Despite some food industry success stories or exceptions, the stock price for tech, AI, software, resource generally trumps consumer staples/retail/food when it comes to explosive stock price return. Tech stocks can also tolerate a higher price to earnings in general
    4. The product ZMM are selling has the future in mind. Both in terms of philosophy, company trajectory, the company speaks efficiency and sustainability. RFG is selling junk food and its story is more about company recovery
    5. I bought rfg at 3.0c. I bought zmm at 2,3c. I know which stock I will eventually sell first if they both go up the same percentage from now on
    6. Collins street value fund vs Perrenial Value management. Which one has the better reputation and track record? The investment philosophy of Perennial also focuses more on long term hold, so you will not experience any unexpected dumping/profit taking in the short to medium term
    7. IMO the register for ZMM is much tighter than RFG. ZMM ownership structure is reminiscent of the 400x profit Pro Medicus. With the founders of ZMM and a few fundies owing more than 70% of the share register. Hence less supply.

Despite all I said, I recommend punters hold both stocks for the sole reason of diversification. You don't know which one will go up first. If RFG go up first, you can always sell and migrate part of the funds from RFG to ZMM later and vice versa etc to explore the power of compound growth.
