Yes but in a warmer world there is more rainfall. The rice growing areas could expand, but apparently not be located where they are now.
I heard global warming leading to lower rainfall is a distinctly australian regional phenomenon. Dont know if anyone can point out any reference to this. i cant remember where i saw it.
