Labor has no right to complain if their new-found purity of soul on immigration is not believed. They belted the libs over the head with "work choices" long after Howard officially declared it "dead, buried, cremated".
Labor, by comparison, has stopped well short of declaring their opposition to "turn backs" is equally DEAD. In fact, all I have heard is a wish, or belief that the people smugglers will be reasonable and not force their hand. Wishes are no substitute for policy.
Was Marles for real when asked what a labor government would do about Manus being forced to close down, he said they would talk to the PNG government? DOH! How come the libs haven't thought of that. If that fails he will go to the UNHCR. By the time they pass a non-binding resolution, we will have 100,000 boaties somewhere in the system, but not on Manus.
Sweet Jesus, please help us.
