Russell keeps talking about deflation (as does Prechter) but given Greenspan and Bernake's recent comments on the Fed not allowing deflation (they mentioned they would turn on the printing presses to induce inflation) I wonder what RR thinks of the Fed's chance of bringing about inflation?
I think either way the US economy is going to suffer but the outcome for gold and real asset prices (such as houses) could be very different under inflation or deflation. I would be interested in reading peoples thoughts on what the different asset classes(stockmarket, bonds, property, gold, currencies) will do under inflation or deflation.
