Chinguitti:re: A Basic History of Zionism and its Mate...no disrespect...but I can see you dont have military background nor do you think as a military strategist.

You say: "Let's assume the worst case. Uday Hussein & freinds decide to invade Israel and break the treaty. Israel kicked their collective asses in '67 and Israels relative military strength is higher now than then. Israel would kick ass again. The US and Europe and every other civilized country would be onside given the clear breach of faith. Israel would reclaim Gaza and West Bank and we would be in the same situation we are now except Israel has the moral high ground. Not much of a risk."

That is nowhere near the worst case scenario.

And they have learned alot since the days of the 67 stoush.

Now imagine the geo-boundaries as you would wish with totally permeable borders, with no restrictions on the passage of goods etc.

Now envisage a terror campaign that is not waged from without....but from within???

The only thing that allows Israel to function at all -is that the bad guys are "over there" - wherever that may be. There is a perimeter...

And they have to infiltrate any thing but a permeable perimeter.

I can think of many other urban warfare scenarios that DO NOT include or allow for the return to the present status quo.

And.....even if your right....even if your worst case scenario is indeed the worst case and Israel has to do its thing....

What price do they then have to pay in human lives??

Easy to spend other people's money (read lives) from afar, no???
