Interesting post , are the US still using the M14 ? Dont get me wrong I know next to nothing about the military generally. In Australia I think the SLR 7.62 was the Rifle around about that era.

I think it is a serious concern if Australian troops are issued an inferior Steyr Rifle particually when the shortcomings of the Steyr are documented and seemingly also endorsed by the SAS,s and Special Service adoption of the M4.
