Yes, the .223 is not even a good pig stopper. If you want the energy out at any decent range, it needs a bigger boiler room for higher muzzle velocity. the .308 with a 125gr PSP & mv of around 3300fps is a show stopper. You can go right out to about 220gr, but the powder load has to be reduced and the drop over distance much greater. Wind effect is aso greater due to the longer time in flight. If something is running at me I prefer it to go down & stay down.
