    Neither mining, nor O&G companies "generally" own their own rigs - for very good reason.

    I doubt there is a justification for PTR to own it's own rig, and therefore I doubt very much that it will go down that path - management too good to do dumb things.

    Very different (and expensive) story for GDY who are drilling beyond the conventional realm, into solid highly overpressured granite 5 km deep. They NEED their own rig.
