Palmer sertainly does have runs on the board. When the RSPT was floated Palmer listed the projects he would be closing. He included a South Australian project which piqued interest in some because Palmer has no mining interests in South Australia. Usually when people lie they take the trouble to not lie in a way that will be easily exposed. This clearly isn't a social grace that Palmer concerns himself with, because he knows it wouldn't matter what he did or said, the fawning acolytes of political conservatism would always defend him.
