i'm afraid that is just incorrect. WW2 was launched by 2 of the most extreme right wing regimes in history-3rd Reich and Japan-resulting in 70-80 million deaths-most of those innocent civilians on all sides. No comparison . LWNJ certainly have been grim reapers - USSR , PolPot , Mao etc for millions-no denying it. RWNJ -like LWNJ emerge into a vacuum of rebellious opposition. Left wing rebels are nowhere to be seen. Because their social causes have been achieved. Left wing social ideals are now the consensus across the Western world-and are enforced - with totalitarian zeal and restrictions in many cases- by basically neocon , neo liberal govts and media. Who are very happy to have their own wars when it suits. Economically and militarily we live in a very right wing world. Socially we live in a moderately left wing world. To rebel against that, any rebel has to become , extreme right wing. Because to do anything else ie be left wing, is just not rebellious anymore. Its , frankly, boring . Old. No-one gets fired up about economics. But dangle identity politics, immigration etc and boy oh boy is the Nazi bitch back on heat. Its an interesting period we live in - liberal totalitarianism.
