G'day Writer - to go for the trivial bit first - thanks for changing the frigging thread title - my own attempt a few days back was disregarded.

Now back to your thoughts on the Rights issue - I'd say you made a considered post, and I agree with your general point of view. Unfortunately in my case I can't afford to takeup my 'full' rights issue, but I will be participating with a smaller 'contribution' to the cause.

I'm happy to put my hand up and admit to not being a sophisticated investor in the mould of Rupert and GiddyYup, who had earlier tossed a wet sponge into this forum. I have enjoyed GiddyYup's patient explanation of other matters in the past, and am more informed for the experience. So I think it was good that those blokes allowed me to read the various links and so on and attempt to make sense of their warnings. After that exercise, my dumb understanding was that Lind/ASOF are themselves a sophisticated bunch of investors that know how to use the system to further their interest in MST stock. However, I found the associated advice to 'beware' how they could screw the shareholders over as a little disingenuous in that I don't see how I can 'beware' of what Lind/ASOF 'might' do - when I am already in the creek up to my nostrils, and it is kinda one minute to midnight when the show may either go 'poof' into a toad; or 'poof' into a handsome prince.....

In the interest of balance, is it also possible that someone can explain how the Lind/ASOF deal 'might' work as a savior, rather than just as a grim reaper of shareholders?

While everyone has to suffer and bleed in their own guts, at the moment I don't personally see it as a viable option to 'assume' a stealth takeover is necessarily on the cards and therefore I should toss in the towel now at one minute to midnight. After a decade long speculative investment, it would be a helluva whimper to do that without waiting to see if the prince pops up, or maybe is slowly dragged up? I'm not sure this makes me naive - but it maybe does clarify how I see my realistic options.
