I haven't asked specifically about these comments, but I suspect if the people I've spoken to) wanted to be identified, they'd probably post on here themselves. Previously, they've preferred I didn't quote them directly. Hope you understand that I'm not trying to be annoying or 'mysterious'. I doubt if people will talk to me if I go against there wishes is all, although I should point out that those I speak to never disclose price-sensitive information. I'm certainly not a mouthpiece for the company, or an apologist for it.
Re confidence, i agree with you, with all these meetings and talks going on, you'd expect something to happen before they run out of cash. But these negotiations seem to have been going on forever it seems and to be quite frank, there seems to have been quite a few pivotal points in ATC's progress that have come and gone and yet there is still no deal. Sure, there is now a new list of reasons big pharma might be waiting and they do sound reasonable (to me anyway). I guess my position is that I believe that the company is in active negotiations and I believe that the company thinks there's a strong chance of a deal coming about. But noone knows for sure if that will happen, including me.
I personally think the rights issue is a bad look that puts a lid on the share price when it was looking like it might move forward. It also aims to dilute our holdings by a third all for the sake of $14m, which presumably won't do a lot. My post was simply stating the response of someone close to the company when I put these points to them. They remain confident about AVX, I remain wary..... and confident... (if that makes sense). As to taking up the rights issue..... not sure if I'll take it up. I've poured a lot into AVX and would kick myself if I put in another pile only for it to be all lost in a few months. Reckon I'll see how the price holds up over the next week or two.
Hope that clarifies things. Repeating.... I'm neither a mouthpiece or an apologist for the company. I simply talk to some folk that are closer to AVX than me and pass on some of the things I hear that I think are of interest.
