Another point to consider with regards to MESOBLAST's bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells is the fact that bone marrow tends to be very high in white blood cells and low in the mesenchymal cells. Isolating stem cells from fat tissue is now the preferred route not only because it’s easier on the patient, but fat also contains a higher population of mesenchymal cells and fewer white blood cells.
