Iron ore touched its highest level in Singapore since June, rising 1 per cent to US$123.25 a tonne. The most-traded May ore contract on China’s Dalian Commodity Exchange ended daytime trade 1.4 per cent ahead at 855.50 yuan (US$126.57) a tonne.
Copper scaled a seven-month high, extending its push above US$9,000 a tonne. Benchmark copper on the London Metal Exchange advanced 0.59 per cent to US$9,178.50 a tonne and traded as high as US$9,240.
