    In June 2008, I fixed term deposits at 8.6% with Suncorp. By Aug 2008, I fixed another lot, this time the best I could get was 7.75% at Bendigo Bank, by Sept 2009 Bankwest at 6.88%. I know Term Deposit rates are somewhat different to theses loans, but doesn't the trend suggest rates were going down rather than up?

    According to ASIC site, the RE change happened 26 Feb 2009 or two months after the interest rate swap deal was done.
