Some people speculate AGY will use a new process that will solve the magnesium problem of Rincon

The company has not made such a claim. In the latest AGY’s presentation, page 11, the “Rincon Project Process Flow Sheet” is the conventional recovery method used in a number of other lithium projects

In this forum some people have said Allurralde may have a patented solution to the magnesium problem. The United States Patent 8,309,043 “Recovery of Li values from sodium saturate brine” was granted in November 13, 2012 to the FMC Corporation (Philadelphia, PA). US patents are granted for 20 years so FMC owns all the rights to this recovery method until 2032.

The inventors where “Alurralde; Pablo (Salta, AR) and Mehta; Vijay (Gastonia, NC)” and the patent text can be found by searching the US Patent Office

Of interest is that the patent second author, Dr Vijay Mehta, who has more than 45 years of experience in Li production and was VP of the FMC Corporation, is Advisory Board Director of Millennial Lithium Corp. a Canadian company that has mining rights over Pastos Grande Salar in Salta. Millenial’s VP Exploration & Development is Iain Scarr who explored Rio Tinto’s Jadar lithium-borate resource in Serbia, was General Manager of Galaxy’s Sal de Vida project and then went into completing the definitive feasibility on the Rincon project for the Enirgi Group

The point is that Argosy is not the only company with access to the “world’s best experts”.

    As they say, DYOR...
