i am so confused by comments on the debentures.
am i the only one here who understands the debentures???
they do not get a debt-style interest rate. . . they have an entitlement to coupons equivalent to the dividend that is received by ordinary shareholders, on the basis of the number of shares that the debentures would convert into.
the debentures therefore are not a millstone around the company's neck in tough economic times. . . .if the ordinary share divvies go to 0, then the debentures do not accrue interest.
