Boy we are really theorising wildly here. I would guess any company would try a scrip offer or perhaps a mixture of that and cash. Most companies wouldn't go with cash straight away.

If you are going to theorise, maybe you should be thinking in terms of how many EXT shares for every one RIO share.

Like I said, we are pretty much irrelevant except that (if I recall correctly) over 80% of shares are held by people who have 100,000 or more shares. I guess if you are one of these you have some say but the top 20 still hold 73%, they are the power.
