Apart from WOW and WBC many moons ago, I've never held an ASX20 stk. But i followed the actions of former CEO Tom Albenese in the media and i wonder how RIO holders view him? 5.5 yrs ago he scoffed at BHP's bid to buy RIO with the SP at $150. He paid 30BILLION cash (with no KPI's)for Alcan. He rushed into coal in Mozambique with a pie-in-the-sky notion he would float millions of tons of coal down the Zambezi on barges. He committed RIO to a 3 billion investment in Mongolio convinced it was a better country to invest than Australia. He committed RIO to doubling IO production within 4 years thinking China would take the lot at 150/ton. Didn't he also donate about 700million to a one party State in West Africa?? He was paid an extreme salary and revered yet the wheels have come off virtually every deal he drove. Amazing. I wonder if RIO will ask him for their money back?
