Everything is simple from distance, Very dificult up close. I was director of engineering for Foxboro Co which made control systems for complex manufacturing. Two big areas for the were Petro refining and steel production. It is amazing in petro how starting up a cracking facility can go wrong very quickly and l explode. Even a simple process like turning iron ore into steel goes wrong and the blast furnace contents have to be scrapped for latter use. I do agree with you that REE is complex and needs lots of highly experienced people continually adjusting the process. I totally disagree with you saying it is much harder than anything else Everything is easy until you know details.
