Harlee, Re Polo - this is no more than an investment vehicle used by Dattles and his mates who have very deep wallets (billions). It just so happens that this investment vehicle, polo, currently sells at a 40% discount to its NAV. In general it would appear that one or more of these investment vehicles and sympathetic firms or institutions are used to build up controlling positions in identified target companies without having to make an expensive full bid - as a result seats are obtained on boards when the sum of the parts of the various vehicles are combined and control excercised. The targetted firm often does not realise what is happening until it is too late. EXT, victim or beneficiary?
