all the big players are sniffing for opportunities in India:


NEW DELHI -- Global miner Rio Tinto and Indian mining firm NMDC will form an equal joint venture to scout for iron ore and other minerals in India and overseas, the Indian firm's chairman has said.

"We are jointly scouting in Orissa, Tamil Nadu. There are opportunities still in Australia and Brazil," NMDC Chairman Rana Som told reporters, after the firms signed an accord.

He said the joint venture was mainly for iron ore, but would also be open to other minerals.
