IVA was one of those companies from the boom times- spending like mad, because times were good- very good. It was able to boast Merlin, and had Ivanhoe as support, so just kicked around. I suspect when RIO entered Ivanhoe, it cut back everything, and stopped the spending of IVA, and the loans from Ivanhoe- one last input from the placement from Ivanhoe/Turquoise Hill, and that's it.

If you've looked at Ivanhoe's ANN's and presentation, it has cut back on everything. It is now in better shape than it has been in. If copper gets a leg up, IVA will be back in business- but will be leaner, and will do better.
