Dear Headjob.
I 'think'...note, think, only.
That you could be correct.
And why would a J/V be ideal for both Companies.
For Rossing,
This would allow max production from the milling possible.
Would help the local people and the township RIO have built.
Would help to have a J/V partner with the education of the loacl people.
Already, EXT employ an excessive number of persons on their drilling rigs and other requirements.
For EXTRACT.
As ROSSING employs a trolly system to more ore, then this could be fairly cheaply extended to the length of EXT's leases. And in doing so, save many dollars on transport, as it does for ROSSING.
Therefore the greater the distance, the greater the savings.
Access to the ROSSING skilled staff.
Skiiled in mining and milling the same type of ore body.
Sale of product could be within or less than 2 years, maybe even 12months.
As there is ore on the surface downwards, and therefore after the first blasting and truck full, its open cut, big holes and milling near by. This inturn saves the lead time and cost of building a processing mill.
Well, theres just a few ideas to promote the idea of a positive J/V.
UB.
Disclaimer : The above, are guesses only, some or a few thoughts about a possible J/V. I could be 1000%wrong.
