I note that Elon Musk has re-opened Tesla Car Factory in California.
This Covid 19 virus most certainly would have sparked interest in Syrah from USA, Europe and Asia (ex. China) such as Japan and South Korea.
That they previously used to source most of their graphite supplies from China but not any more - they will seek to diversity. So come 30th of June 2020 I would be very surprised if there is not some sort of offtake agreement with Syrah from some buyers (and at a much higher price than US$480 per tonne) or someone or group of players will take it over. Clearly if you wanted such a large resource, this is it. It is all there ready for you.
And the pilot test plant is up and running in the USA too. All it needs is the product to be a hit with customers and a new owner would then only need US$25million to US$50 million to get it to be able to produce 25,000 tonnes per year. The mine supplies the graphite to the plant.
Mark my words - this would be in the sights of some miners, battery companies or private equity players to takeover. Suggest at least $1.00 to $1.30 at a minimum. But if they can turn the corner with some good prices by 30th of September, I think this may well happen.
