RIO TINTO claim they expect to be producing 3000 tpa of lithium by next year from Rincon (reference: Reuters 16th June 2023). AGY already have completed building and commissioning their 2000 tpa production plant right next to RIO which took years of hard work and very hard to come by knowhow which RIO doesn't have. RIO are currently literally rubbing shoulders with AGY (Puna mining) to get an understanding of where to start. The only way RIO can be producing lithium by next year is to buy a company like AGY and even that is 2000 toa at best.
