Iron ore does not have a used by date people. Who ever owns it with correct infrastructure can mine it whenever they wish. If they don't want to mine it tomorrow they can mine it in 5 years if they want or 10.
The only cost to a company would b the capital they invested to let the stuff sit in the ground but there is no expiry on it.
I hold n have not sold 1 share hoping for rio to come over the top, and i was very confident they would. With every day that passes the likelihood decreases.
