In regards to the rent i also looked at all EL that expired for the 5 year period prior to 29 August 2005 (Application date for Shovelanna) and found about 20 EL's that had paid the rent and not lodged extensions. Whether these were deliberatly allowed to expire or were accident who knows.
A company like Rio would pay there rents for each month at one time. Probably a different person responsible for the rent and someone else for the extension of term
Paying the rent had nothing to do with it. They paid the rent on L47/13 and never lodged an extension of term. They couldnt blame a courier on that one as it was been lodged in Karratha not Marble Bar.
I dont agree with the decision.
Anyone who says that CAZ shouldnt have lodged their application or shouldnt have fought dont understand the Mining Act or the Mining Industry. They should be investing in Blue Chips. Stick with something they understand.
I dont believe that there was corruption. There is a saying I heard many years ago that went something like "I much prefer it when Labour are in Government, all they want is a seat on the table whereas When Liberal are in you actually have to give them money". I just think that Carpenter & Bowler thought that they were bigger than they actually are as they were mixing it with the rich.
