And, yes, we all have regrets and RIO as an organisation has to do some navel gazing about this. I mean if rank amateurs like us could see the potential of this company YEARS ago and even Johnny-Come-Latelies could read drill results as recently as 12-18 months ago, what the hell was RIO doing?
When EXT was trading at sub $1 they could have performed a full takeover for a pittance but for whatever organisation reasons the decision was taken to wait and see.
At least they are far more cashed up now and if they get permission to progress with the BHP JV that will give them at least another $5 billion in cash from BHP. Who knows? Maybe they will still win this in the end.
My GOD, this is going to be an exciting 3-6 months for EXT shareholders!!!!
