Its an even bet whether this inane RRT gets up or not, frankly I think Prime minister Rudd and Treasurer Crudd just signed their electoral death warrant. Apparently they both went to school in Nambour, a location not far from me geographically, but one in which I'm seldom found, due to the disturbing abundance of autistic banjo pluckers. Apparently they majored in pineapple husbandry, which given current taxation thinking, has clearly come in handy. However I must apologise for the digression. It occurred to me that this appalling back-handed thankyou to the mining industry does however present an interesting if hypothetical scenario for Rio. What better way to counter the effects of an outrageous 40% tax on profits, than to take over an already 15% owned EXT, totally offshore, and potentially corner/control the renewable energy sector for the next decade. Is it just me...
