Between 300 and 500 detainees have escaped and there
are reports that 15 guards have been injured, including a
local police officer. The Immigration Department
says it cannot say what started the disruption.

I can say what started the anger. Australians are the
scum of the earth in the way we buck-pass the job
of being unspeakable cruel (to distressed people
in dire straits) to poor nations like Papua New
Guinea and Nauru by bribing them to do our
dirty-work of keeping Australia lily white.

Today I took a Chinese uni student on his first day in
Canberra - to the Australia War Memorial to see the
closing ceremony at 5.00 pm of a bugler playing
the Last Post in honour of our war heroes.

There is nothing heroic about kidnapping children
on the high seas and dumping them in malarial
islands and leaving them to rot to garner votes
for Rudd or Abbott or both monsters. This
is not our finest hour. Stalin and Hitler
would be proud but not me. I'm
ashamed to be an Australian.
