The charges against Stern Hu were :
(1) Espionage
(2) Bribery of officials
If convicted of the first charge then death ensues. This would cause Worldwide outrage and consternation. The flow of business would be interrupted.
Stratfor is reporting that the espionage component is dropped.
And now it is bribery. If convicted Stern Hu would be deported and declared a persona no grata in China.
This is likely.
But a lot of facesaving must first be done.
Interesting to see how RIO's SP fell when the news report that China was cutting back on Rio in favour of vale.
An AFR report had gone out of its way to contradict that report
Independent sources noted less shipping from Aust
