    Misty, a majority of workers out there live from week to week or fortnight to fortnight. They usually have bugger all to live on between the weekend and pay day. It's these guys that anxiously wait for the yearly budget handouts by the way of Family Tax payments, etc. It's money that many use to buy something special like a new LCD, fridge, lounge suite or holiday. The smart ones will pay it of their credit card that still has debts from Christmas 2 years ago on it.

    It's these people that will be upset if there is no big cash splash.

    Many don't even pay money into their superanuation policies so they couldn't give a rats about a Government promising them something extra that they will receive in 30 years time. It's what they are getting in the next 3-6 months which is most important to them.


    Yes, a responsible budget would not have the cash splash but in the year of an election many punters have a short memory and if this is the year that the family didn't get that holiday guess who will get the blame? Our soon to be former Prime Minister....
