That pretty much encapsulates the utter tragedy of fundamental religious belief perfectly, thank you.

You evolved out of nothing? Might it not be an essential honesty required of Christians to investigate evolution? To be informed rather than parrot the fundamentalist line over and over again, you do realise that no thought is involved in parroting somebody else's errors?

If God is real and evolution has been proven beyond a doubt, then might not evolution be a Creative process rather than some random process. There's no point hanging on to Genesis Creation because no evidence exists for it. It has been shown to be a symbolic story. It was meant to enlighten, not cause ignorance to flourish.

As for death-beds and nothingness, nothingness would be a blessing, no regrets, no suffering, no ads.

Nobody is worthy of eternal life. 90 million people died when Christianity was gifted to the Americas, more than both world wars in total and you think this is the religion that's going to be forgiven by exactly what kind of a god?

It would seem more likely that if there is anything beyond this life, then everybody will end up in exactly the same place. The only difference being that each of us will be developed spiritually to differing degrees. Those differing degrees of spiritual preparedness are the punishment and reward, heaven and hell from this life.

Religion, or rather, the scriptures do try to train the individual, but then the sheep mentality kicks in and people follow the blabbering of the man in the silly hat, the dog collar, the purple high camp robe and whatever he gets wrong, they get wrong and on it goes.

I'm sure you mean well, but don't for a second imagine that by joining some religion offers you a get out of jail card.
