It would need to replace fiat to work. Right now I need Aussie dollars to live. Crypto is uber volatile, could rocket up or crash any moment. I can’t rely on it being worth a stable amount for converting to Aussie dollars daily use. Bitcoin way too expensive with fees, energy intensive to mine and slow. Maybe crypto will get there one day but big hurdles to overcome. Maybe central banks being able to guide economy isn’t actually such a terrible thing.
