I think the both of you misunderstood my post..i dont advocate higher wages, i advocate wages that is linked to or commensurate to the cost of living.
obviously SL thinks that China and SEA are just going to continue to 'basic manufacture'.
Sector, if you can, try to look back at countries like Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong. They all basic manufactured at the outset..look at them now..it wasnt that long ago..they now manufacture some of the most technologically advanced products we use everyday.
An idea to remain competitive in labour cost is to keep living costs down and ONE of the four most basics of survival is SHELTER!
Oh and competitive does NOT mean EQUAL...
