The spot price for IO has been steadily rising and this would appear to be helping the GRR share price. Other IO stocks have also been affected - AGO, BHP, RIO, FMG etc. With the general market rising these stocks appear to have outperformed the general market.
The spot IO price yesterday was $126.40 - one week ago it was $118.40. It is now the highest it has been for over two months. Not sure how this affects the recent pricing arrangement GRR entered into with Shagang but would appear to be positive. The IO spot price mentioned above is not for pellets - the pellet price should be something higher - possibly an extra $20-$25.
