I think people on HC go a bit overboard with the whole manipulation thing, but there are definitely times it occurs in both directions. Looking at market depth and course of sales can tell you a lot.

For example if the bid or offer lines have a single order that is multitudes bigger than the rest of the orders in the cue, you can tell someone is trying to move the price in a particular direction. This is even more evident when it is always one or two pips from the action with the intention of it never getting hit.

Other examples are when you see orders that go through that wouldn't even total $500 which is minimum trade for most of us. This is the big boys trying to get a feel for real market depth.

But you know, sometimes it's just straight out plain legit someone doesn't want the stock any more and are dumping it - not saying that is the case for AJM, just pointing it out
