Cities are always changing. Look at any capital city street directory from, say, 50 years ago, and be amazed at the growth we've all experienced.
Has this growth been painful? No. Has it been panicky? No. Has it been a disaster? No.
Yet the capital required to fund the expansion of this growth has been many times the expected cost of any adaptation to yet-to-materialise sea-level prophecies.
In response to geographic pressures in the past, we've relatively comfortably managed change, both financially and logistically. What is it that makes Chicken Littles think we humans won't be able to manage future challenges if and when they arise?
