    "A failure to hold above(ie, cross below)this time would signal a major sell-off back to $1150-1200"

    Why?

    I would think there are plenty of shares and indices and commodities that are 'steady' for a period of 6 months. It appears your comment says... if a share is steady for 200 days (that means 50 dma and 200 dma will be together)... and, one day the price falls a couple of percent (now 50 day under 200 day)... THEN the price will fall 25% or so.

    I do not follow this logic. Is this some technical chartist thinking.

    I am not being 'smart arse'. I am just curious since I do not follow charts much.
