F1 vs EV is pointless at least with current battery technology, the EV don't have a hope in hell of competing with F1's unless you have a really short race, a battery big enough for normal F1 300km of flat out racing would probably need a truck to fit it.
But really is of no consequence for road use, the Model S figures you quoted are really all that count for road use, basically a Models will smash just about any petrol car in normal road conditions.
The biggest hurdle currently for EV adoption is cost, the cheapest EV currently is too expensive for mass market adoption, at least in Australia but that will change with time and progress.
Range anxiety is overblown, most EV's can cover the average drivers weekly km's and you can just keep topping them up overnight, long road trips are a bit more of a challenge but that usage is not the everyday norm.
Note: I have been a petrol head for all my life but who can so no to 0-100 in 2.1 seconds .... bring it on.
