Useless liquor and gaming regulator in the news again today. Under fire for loose control of liquor delivery.
somehow they allowed foreign students (vulnerable workers who care about funding their stay in Australia not adhering to liquor regulations) to deliver alcohol. There have been huge problems with delivering to under age customers and intoxicated patrons - often late at night.
problem is, once the delivery driver has spent their money driving out to delivery address, they want to get paid. They don't want to refuse service and deal with having to return the product. I have even had wine deliveries left on my doorstep with zero responsible service of alcohol oversight.

number 1 reason this is not stopped as the government doesn't want to jeopardise foreign student jobs.

also Melbourne currently experiencing a underworld turf war on tabacco shops. Robberies, arson attacks, ram raids. They gave out licenses to underworld figures who want to corner this market. Illegal tobacco trade is the number 2 revenue maker for the mafia after illegal rubbish dumping (strange I know).

so who is really the bad egg? All the casinos for failing their regulation or the real serial offender the government regulator?
by the way, alcohol delivery wasn't even a retail option until the last few years. Do we really even need it?
